World-wide Mobile Ad Spending Statistics
Yesterday, Jason Zielke gave me an article to read from the Wall Street Journal. The article focuses mostly on the stunts and new technology used by Papa John’s Pizza in their advertising and marketing, in order to compete with the big guys. Their latest stunt allows customers to order their pizza pies via SMS text messaging from their mobile phones.
What caught my attention was a graph accompanying the article, which forecasts the growth in world-wide mobile ad spending from 2006 to 2011. The 2006 level is around 1 billion, and in 2011 they project it to be over 15 billion (Media Metrix).
This is just one good reason why Headstand Media is focusing attention on Chicago web design in the mobile device interface design field. We see the future of web design becoming less for what we now call “computers,” and more for hand-held and small portable digital assistants. We view our future as needing to address this growing new media and advertising market.
