Randal Birkey

Randal began a career in custom architectural illustration and technical illustrations for customers nation-wide in 1980. Randal created BIRKEY.COM as his online illustration portfolio in 1996. Three years later he merged it with a software company and built it as a web design and development firm from 1999-2007. He sold his interest in that business in 2007 and started Headstand Media as a Chicago-based web 2.0 design company, which he currently manages on a daily basis.

Randal enjoys spending time with his family and friends, reading fiction, riding his motorcycle and playing his guitar. Other interests include: travel, blogging, watercolor painting, hot rods, and listening to bluegrass and country music.

Randal and his wife have lived in Oak Park, Illinois for many years where they raised their 4 children.
