McDonald’s Corporation

The home page features an Adobe Flex-based “main tout” that reads in images and written content from an external XML source. This approach allows McDonald’s employees to update the home page content without needing to do additional Adobe Flex development.

On the same site, Headstand Media used innovative design and a similar technology approach to produce an Adobe Flex-based company history timeline.

The timeline images and written descriptions are read in to the custom designed Flex engine from an external XML source. The XML file can be updated at any time, which will then change the content of the Flex file. This unique approach enables the content within the Flash file to be indexed by Google and become part of the content of the website, unlike most traditional Flash development.

In addition to this combined creativity+technology approach, Headstand Media provides ongoing strategy, design and production services on a wide range of projects for both public and private McDonald’s intranet website projects, all designed and developed in Adobe’s CQ5 enterprise web content management system.

McDonald’s worldwide employee intranet is called AccessMCD. Headstand Media developed a site that facilitates employees to ask questions of upper McDonald’s leadership about the global business, and facilitates their response. It is called “Straight Talk – Straight Answers.” This site is highlighted on the AccessMCD home page where every McD employee lands each day. (AccessMCD not available to non-employees)
